Quit a different view from Colorado, isn’t it? I exchanged my jeans and boots for shorts and flip-flops. Gosh, I love the beach. There is something about it that makes me feel right at home.

Here’s a quick recap of my week in St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and Clearwater, FL.

This was my third trip to St. Petersburg, and it was definitely different from my last few visits. It goes without saying that I enjoyed the sunny skies and warm temps, morning runs on the water, meeting with friends and making new ones, but it was very emotional, and, at times, a bit somber. All in all my visit to the Sunshine State was extremely eye-opening and beautiful. Getting to witness one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen made this whole experience worthwhile.

Goodbye, St. Petersburg…for now!

Till next time Colorado!

One morning I was at Whole Foods getting a coffee, and noticed a bowl filled with assorted little bars by the register. They were called BudiBar, The Anytime Superfood Bar. I picked up the Dark Chocolate Almond and read the label: Wheat, soy, and dairy free, all natural ingredients, and Foodie Approved. I am always looking for a healthy mid-afternoon snack for that 3:00pm slump. You know, that time when us 9-5er’s are counting down the last 2 hours of work without falling asleep at our desks. Instead of reaching for a chocolate or candy later on, I decided to purchase the BudiBar.

This was a tasty little treat that I did not feel bad about indulging in. It had just the right amount of sweetness without having any added sugars. The bar was filled with bits of shredded coconut, chunks of bitter dark chocolate, whole almonds, and chia seeds that popped in your mouth. It was a fun crunchy, chewy texture. I highly recommend trying BudiBar for an afternoon pick-me-up. It’s rich in Omega-3’s, antioxidants and energy boosting whole food ingredients which are great for the mind, body and soul. Or as they say, “Mind, Budi & Soul.”

Check out their website here to view all the different bar varieties. Not only do I love this product, I love the company and their mission. Hope you get to try one soon!
