About

Welcome to The Peppered Soul!

I’m Tammy and one thing I know for sure is that I am truly passionate about food: eating it mostly, cooking it, buying it, learning about it, talking about it, etc. I look at food as an experience and not just one of our basic needs. Food can tell a story, be a work of art, or a take you on a journey into sensory overload. It can comfort and satisfy you and unfortunately, at times, can completely disagree with you.

With that said, in the Spring of 2014 I learned that I have an allergy to yeast. Having had my fair share of allergies in life it is no surprise that I am suffering with food allergies as well. Not only did I discover the allergy, I was also dealing with candida overgrowth in my body. You can read the story of how that came to be in My Break Up with Beer and Bread.

My entire relationship with food has changed, but it hasn’t stopped me from enjoying the things that I love. Yes, I feel at my best staying yeast-free, but I’ll be honest, it’s not an easy lifestyle for me. I am the girl who lives for full food experiences, and trying new innovative and creative foods. Sometimes, I just have to deal with the consequences.

Life is truly all about balance. Yes, balance. A consistent and attainable goal that I have been working on for myself year after year. I decided to enroll in a coaching program and graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in December 2015. Now a fully certified Integrative Holistic Health & Wellness Coach, I am inspired and passionate about helping others on their own food and lifestyle journey’s.

As The Peppered Soul I want to share with you delicious recipes – yeast-free and not – foodie adventures, health & wellness information, and my own personal stories and struggles. That last part will not be so easy for me, so please be patient as I learn how to share a part of myself with all of you. My true authentic self.

Thanks so much for reading!

xx Tammy
